AANS/NREF Global Sponsorship Opportunity for Neurosurgery Residents

Now Open: 2025 Applications for Sponsored NREF Course Participation

In partnership with AASNS, FLANC, and CAANS, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation (NREF) are offering a unique opportunity for neurosurgery residents from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC) and Low-Income Countries (LIC).

Each society will sponsor one resident annually to attend a prestigious NREF course in 2026.

Key Dates

• Application Deadline: November 1, 2025

• Notification of Selected Applicants: January 2026

 Who Can Apply

• Current neurosurgery residents in training within LMIC/LIC (Check the World Bank list)

• Must submit:

  • CV

  • Letter confirming residency status

  • Personal statement on how the course will enhance your training
