Who We Are

The Asian Australasian Society of Neurological Surgeons (AASNS) is a unifying body representing neurosurgeons’ collective expertise, innovation, and dedication across the Asian-Australasian region. Founded in 1967, AASNS has grown to become the largest continental neurosurgical society, bringing together over 25,000 neurosurgeons from more than 28 national and regional societies. Despite differences in healthcare systems and resources, we share a common goal: to advance neurosurgical care and improve the lives of nearly 60% of the world’s population.

AASNS serves as a bridge between neurosurgeons in both developed and developing countries, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Our members include renowned experts and emerging leaders shaping the future of neurosurgery. With a commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and excellence, we actively engage in education, training, and outreach. From organizing world-class conferences to spearheading research collaborations, AASNS is at the forefront of neurosurgical advancement, addressing immediate patient needs while shaping the future of the field through advocacy and sustainable development.
